The Study Centre was set up to provide a base to aid research into the vast history of Portland. We provide a large archive of original and facsimile documents and photographs.

The Study Centre is run by volunteers and self-funded with support from the Island of Portland Heritage Trust.

 Portland Historic Sources CD (Also on sale at the Centre for £15)


This CD is a must for all those with an interest in Portland. Produced by the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society, and contains, Parish Registers, Poll Books, Census records for 1841, 51, 61 & 71, Prison Records, Shipwreck reports and much more including reconstructed Portland Families.
